Submitting a Special Issue Proposal

The International Journal of Pharma Studies welcomes proposals for Special Issues built around focused, timely, and academically relevant themes within pharmaceutical sciences and related research disciplines. A Special Issue might focus on drug discovery and development, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, drug delivery systems, clinical research, toxicology, pharmaceutical analysis, or emerging challenges in medicine and pharmaceutical technology.

All Special Issues, and every manuscript submitted to them, are held to the same standards that govern the rest of the journal: editorial evaluation, peer review, publication ethics, confidentiality, scientific integrity, and conflict-of-interest management.

What to Include in Your Proposal

A strong Special Issue proposal should cover:

Proposed Title
A working title for the issue that clearly reflects its pharmaceutical or related scientific research theme.
Theme and Scope
A short description of the theme, its scientific relevance, and its importance to pharmaceutical research, drug development, healthcare, or related disciplines.
Objectives
What the issue aims to achieve and the scientific contribution it is expected to make, including potential advances in pharmaceutical knowledge, research methodologies, therapeutic development, or drug safety.
Guest Editor(s)
Name, affiliation, academic or professional background, relevant research expertise, and contact details.
Proposed Article Types
Original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, methodological studies, or other relevant scholarly formats consistent with the journal's scope.
Expected Number of Contributions
A reasonable estimate of the number of manuscripts anticipated for the Special Issue.
Proposed Timeline
An expected submission window and proposed schedule for manuscript evaluation, peer review, revisions, and publication, where known.
Above all, the proposal should make a clear case for why the theme is scientifically relevant, how it contributes to pharmaceutical research, and why it is a good fit for the International Journal of Pharma Studies.

What We Expect from Guest Editors

Guest Editors taking on a Special Issue are expected to:

Promote the issue through relevant academic, scientific, and professional networks.
Reach out to and invite high-quality scholarly contributions from qualified researchers.
Support the editorial and peer-review process from start to finish.
Maintain confidentiality, scientific integrity, and editorial independence throughout.
Disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest and manage them appropriately.
Ensure submitted manuscripts meet the journal's scientific, academic, and ethical standards.
Pay appropriate attention to research ethics, clinical study requirements, data integrity, and relevant pharmaceutical research standards.
Follow the Guest Editor Guidelines and other applicable policies of the International Journal of Pharma Studies.

Editorial decisions should never be shaped by personal, professional, institutional, commercial, or financial interests. Guest Editors must not guarantee acceptance or provide preferential treatment to invited authors or contributors.

How Proposals Are Evaluated

Every Special Issue proposal goes through editorial evaluation before approval. In reviewing it, the International Journal of Pharma Studies considers the theme's scientific relevance, alignment with the journal's scope, the qualifications and expertise of the proposed Guest Editor(s), the expected scholarly contribution, and the practical feasibility of the proposed issue.

Submitting a proposal does not guarantee approval.

Even once a Special Issue is approved, that approval applies to the issue as a whole, not to any individual manuscript. Every submission still undergoes the journal's standard editorial screening and peer-review process on its own merits. All manuscripts remain subject to applicable research ethics, publication standards, and editorial decisions.
